About the Item

A striking example of late 20th-century Venetian glass, this rectangular Murano glass bowl is attributed to the work of renowned glass maestro Alessandro Mandruzzato and dates to the 1980s. Handcrafted using the sommerso (submerged) technique, it features a vivid rose pink core encased in thick clear Murano crystal, forming a sculptural, architectural block. The faceted form is chamfered on all sides — a design language closely associated with Mandruzzato’s studio output. These crisp geometric cuts refract light dramatically, creating shifting reflections that accentuate the depth and hue of the pink interior. Though unsigned by maker, the bowl bears a hand-scribed “Murano” inscription to the underside — a common mark of origin on authentic Murano studio pieces from the era. In very good vintage condition, with no chips, cracks or clouding. All surfaces and edges remain crisp and well-polished. Dimensions: Width: 11 cm Depth: 6.5 cm Height: 4.2 cm A sculptural and collectible example of Italian art glass, this pink Murano glass bowl works beautifully as a standalone display object or as a functional accent on a desk, shelf, or console.
