About the Item
Footed bowl in a classic form.
Cast and turned bronze with warm patina.
Material: Bronze
Dimensions: H. 4 cm, D. 15 cm
Mark: “BRONCE” underneath
Period: Circa 1940, Art Deco style
Condition: Excellent condition, with natural patina and minor signs of use
A simple and decorative bronze bowl, raised on a low foot. The golden patina and clean lines place the piece within the Art Deco style, making it suitable both as a functional item and as a decorative object.
Since antiquity, bronze has been a favored material for applied arts, sculpture, and utilitarian objects. The alloy of copper and tin provides strength, durability, and a warm tone that develops a beautiful patina over time. In the early 20th century, bronce was often used in Art Deco design, characterized by geometric forms, streamlined shapes, and a refined balance between function and elegance.
