About Willy Johansson Willy Johansson was a pioneer in Norwegian glass design, known for his organic and pleasing design language. As a third-generation glassworker, he grew up in Jevnaker, where his father, Johan Wilhelm Johansson, worked as a glassblower at Hadeland Glassverk. Johansson got an early taste of the glass trade, delivering his father's breakfast to the glassworks as a young boy. After finishing primary school, he started as an apprentice at Hadeland Glassverk and later continued his studies at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry, where he was taught by prominent figures like Jacob Prytz and Sverre Pettersen. This led to an impressive career at Hadeland Glassverk, where he created over 200 art glass models, including the iconic Siri and Fersken series. Willy Johansson set a new standard for Norwegian art glass, and his works from the Scandinavian design period (1950-1970) are among the most sought after. His ability to create both practical household items and unique art pieces has made his work timeless. Hadeland Glassverk - Tradition and Quality Hadeland Glassverk, established in 1762, has a long tradition of producing high-quality glass products.
