Luigi Onesto
Luigi Onesto was born in Murano into a glass-making family. At the age of 15, he began to learn the secrets of glass as an apprentice at Gambaro Poggi, one of the oldest and most famous glass factories on the island. In 1978, he established his glass art studio, the Vetreria Artistica Oball. Onesto’s elegant vessels, bottles and objects are created by the technique called sommerso, which incorporates layers of different colors.
