About the Item
Rare very large bowl by Marianne Starck for the famous Danish ceramic studio Michael Andersen
Søn. Made ca. 1960s.
The bowl can also be hung on the wall. It features a hand painted decor with a couple in love sitting on a branch.
It´s made in Persia technique, a special crackle technique developed by David Andersen from Michael Andersen
Søn (Son) in the 1920s.
Due to the production process and because it´s handmade not one piece looks like an other. This piece has an especially beautiful colorplay in our eyes.
About the artist
Marianne Starck (1938-2007) was the artistic leader at Michael Andersen
Søn for decades. She was from Northern Germany and came to MA&S in the 1950s. She stayed there until it closed in 1993. She was a very innovative and versatile artist and created many iconic designs for the ceramic workshop.
