About the Item
Beautiful, extra large, vintage Murano hand blown black over white and purple Italian art glass double position clam shell centerpiece vase / bowl sculpture. The piece is created in the manner of the Cenedese company. As you can see from the photos, there is a thin layer of white glass in between the black and purple. The bottom of the seashell is polished 2 times at different angles. The faceted polished base lets it stand up as a flower vase, or be displayed on the side as a bowl. It has an unusual color combination. Would make a great display piece on any credenza, coffee or console table. Use it as a sculptural piece or fill it with flowers. You will be able to showcase it as a decorative piece in any room. Mid-century era. Measures: 10 3/4" across x 6 3/4" wide x 6 5/8" high.
