About the Item

Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown white, red and copper aventurine Italian art glass centerpiece footed bowl. Documented to designer Dino Martens for Aureliano Toso, circa 1950s. Similars are published in his book (see last photo). Looks to be a variation of Model 5387. The bowl has a zig zag pattern with the red and copper stripes, and curled down at the opposite ends. It sits on a small clear glass disk for the base. Would make a great display piece on any coffee table, dresser or credenza. Use it as a catchall, candy dish, or just showcase it as a decorative piece in any room. Mid-century era. A collectors piece! Measures 11" long x 5 3/4" wide x 3 3/4" tall.   Literature: Dino Martens - Muranese Glass Designer, by Marc Heiremans. Similar samples in the archive of photos. Vetreria Aureliano Toso, Murano 1938 - 1968, Designs by Dino Martens, Enrico Potz and Gino Polo, by Marc Heiremans.
