About the Item

This refined Murano glass bowl is executed in a very pale green hue, giving it a light and elegant presence. The bowl is distinguished by its highly decorative upper rim, featuring a delicate, spiderweb-like pattern that demonstrates the mastery of Murano glassmaking techniques. Beneath this intricate rim runs a thin white glass band, subtly accentuating the transition between the decorative edge and the body of the bowl. Rather than resting on a traditional foot, the bowl is grounded by a thick, richly worked lower rim, formed in softly ruffled Murano glass that adds weight, texture, and sculptural character to the piece. The clarity, craftsmanship, and nuanced coloration of the glass strongly suggest an attribution to Barovier Toso, one of Murano’s most important and influential glassmaking houses. The design reflects the refined elegance and technical sophistication of mid-20th-century Italian Murano production. Both decorative and functional, this bowl works beautifully as a centerpiece or as a sculptural object in its own right—an understated yet distinctive example of Murano glass artistry.
