About the Item
Handcrafted on the Venetian island of Murano in the 1970s, this decorative glass bowl is a fine example of the traditional filigrana technique—where coloured canes of glass are carefully fused and blown to create linear or swirling patterns within the body of the piece.
In this instance, alternating green and blue stripes spiral elegantly around the bowl, forming a rhythmic, almost kinetic surface. The bowl is set atop a low circular base of golden glass, adding a subtle contrast in both tone and texture. While unsigned, the original Murano label remains intact on the underside, offering a mark of provenance. The bowl’s form and colour sensibility are reminiscent of works by Livio Campanella, though no definitive attribution is made.
The piece measures approximately 12 cm in diameter and 8 cm in height. It remains in very good vintage condition, with minor signs of age and use consistent with careful handling.
