Ondes 1 by Rosa Cortiella – Handcrafted Grogged Clay Fruit Bowl
Ondes 1 is a unique handcrafted fruit bowl made from grogged clay by Catalan ceramic artist Rosa Cortiella. This sculptural piece balances raw texture with a fluid, organic form, making it both functional and decorative. Designed as part of the Ondes series, the bowl reflects Cortiella’s exploration of movement, balance, and volume within ceramic art.
Working at the intersection of sculpture, design, and utility, Cortiella draws on decades of experience to create emotionally resonant pieces that embody both strength and fragility. Each bowl is individually crafted, making it a singular collectible item ideal for contemporary interiors or curated design collections.
She has a degree on Ceramic and sculpture. Professionally dedicated to ceramics since 1988. Interested in formal and artistic experimentation in the ceramic medium. Her multidisciplinary training allows her to move from sculpture to product development, or color research. For a long time, her work has focused on the design and production of limited series, mainly in the field of haute cuisine.
She combines her professional career with teaching and ceramics workshops. Also, she has been curator for 3 years at the ACC gallery. Currently collaborating with MUD CERAMICS Factory as head of the R
D department.
