About the Item

Per Linnemann-Schmidt for Palshus. Two stoneware bowls in a deep, vibrant blue glaze with lively surface variations. The simple, refined form allows the glaze to unfold its depth, shifting from matte to glossy as the light plays across it. Designer: Per Linnemann-Schmidt (1912–1999) Workshop: Palshus, Denmark Period: 1960s Material: Stoneware with blue glaze Signature: Incised Palshus, Denmark, PLS with shape numbers to the underside Condition: Presented in fine condition, with small chips to both bowls Dimensions: H. 2.5–4 cm, D. 7.5–13.5 cm A fine example of Palshus’ characteristic design tradition, where functionality, simplicity, and glaze artistry merge into timeless objects. About Palshus: Palshus Ceramics was founded in 1947 in Taastrup by ceramicist Per Linnemann-Schmidt and his wife Annelise Linnemann-Schmidt. The workshop became renowned for its clean forms and subtle, nuanced glazes, often in restrained shades of blue, green, and earthy tones. Today, Palshus’ works are considered among the key achievements of Danish studio ceramics, uniting functionalism with artistic sensitivity.
