About the Item
A tri-footed Mask Bowl in hand-carved bissilon by Emil Milan. This design, whose underside appears as a tribal mask, was one of several conceived by Milan and Joyce Anderson for the 1964 USAID (Agency for International Development) project they undertook in Honduras where they trained local villagers in woodcarving. Untouched patina, signed to interior of rear foot. The only such one we've encountered, possibly a demonstration example.
