About the Item

A refined and sculptural bronze centerpiece bowl, designed and produced in the 1930s by GAB (Guldsmedsaktiebolaget), one of Sweden’s most respected metalware firms. Exemplifying the transitional elegance of Swedish Grace and early Art Deco, this piece features a long rectangular form with gently curved vertical walls and strikingly stylized handles at each end—sculpted with stepped ridges that evoke a sense of movement and architectural rhythm. The bowl displays a rich, naturally aged patina in deep bronze tones with verdigris highlights, adding character and historic depth to its presence. It rests on a broad, stable rectangular plinth base, giving the form gravitas and balance. The surface interior shows subtle oxidization and age-appropriate wear, consistent with its 1930s origin and authentic to its untouched condition.
