About the Item

A small round glass bowl crafted in the early 1970s by Michael Harris. This particular piece is one of Harris's early works for Mdina, making it a rare piece of glass history. It features a small circular base and a shallow conical body with a large inverted lip, curving and arching inwards. Each glass technique concept from Michael Harris is named. In this bowl, the technique used is called "Sand and Sea." Azure blue glass interspersed with striations of green glass come together with fine particles of sand and bubbles. This design captures the rapture and play underwater between sand and sea, showcasing a skilled technique that perfectly suspends movement; A poetic photograph, realised with the skill and artistry of Mr Harris. The small glass bowl measures 4.5 cm in height and 14.5 cm in diameter, making it versatile for display. It is an excellent piece of design and artistry that easily harmonizes with many interior styles. In very good condition for its age and use, with no chips or cracks in the glass.
