Handblown Vase with Custom Stand by Nancy Freeman, 1979
By Nancy Freeman
Located in South Charleston, WV
Produced by American studio artisan Nancy Freeman of the Catskills Mountains of New York, 1979 signed and dated. Measures 8" tall and 6" wide and deep. Exquisite ribbons of reds and orange color run through the vase and reminds one of the Charisma Series for Blenko. This urn vase has a purposeful bulge on the bottom where the signature is, and this is where the handcrafted Stand comes in with its hole below allowing the glass bulge to enter, thus it prevents the glass from tipping over. The Stand is custom-made by Freeman for the vase from wood and is likely mahogany. A very unique piece from the artist. It is unique and makes an excellent designer decor...
