About the Item

A mid-century decorative art glass bowl, hand-crafted in Sweden during the 1960s. This striking piece combines deep cobalt blue glass with a casing of clear, sparkling crystal, resulting in a vivid interplay of colour and transparency that accentuates its fluid, organic silhouette. The form is distinctly modernist—rising from a small, polished circular base and opening outward into a freeform oval mouth. Though unsigned, the piece strongly evokes the work of Paul Kedelv for Flygfors, particularly his celebrated "Coquille" series, with its layered, biomorphic contours and refined colour work. Measuring approximately 22 cm wide, 12 cm deep, and 8 cm high, this bowl functions beautifully as a vide-poche, table centrepiece, or simply as a standalone sculptural object that introduces a bold note of colour to a modern interior. In very good vintage condition, with minor surface fleabites likely original to the forming process—typical for hand-worked mid-century glass of this type. No structural damage or restoration observed.
