About the Item
Product description
Earthenware plate produced by Westraven, circa 1960. The plate features a soflty mottled glaze in grey tones with a hint of yellow. The grey tones are enriched with a red-brown speckling that creates depth and a gentle sense of movement across the surface. The restrained color palette and smooth texture are characteristic of Westraven's ceramics from the period.
The form is simple and well-balanced, allowing the glaze to take visual precedence. Finished with a smooth, slightly glossy surface that catches the light subtly.
Condition
Very good vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or visible scratches. Minor firing and glaze variations consistent with the production technique of the time.

This bowl, designed by Korean artist Suku Park, is made with very fine, thin porcelain. The porceiain is thin enough such that when you shine light on it some of it will pass through the material. The raised edges of the bowl are perforated (by design) giving the otherwise clean item a little organic touch.
