About the Item
Chinese Republic Period carved cinnabar export cabinet plate with scalloped brass rim and brass ring foot. The central landscape scene is of a pavilion on a lake with mountains in the background. The foreground frames the scene with a gnarled tree branches and leafy foliage. The border is meticulously carved scrollwork, punctuated with propitious eight flower blooms. The same design is repeated on the underside border.
