This lacquered serving tray is crafted with a hand-painted panel salvaged from a vintage Chinese cabinet. Selected for its charming folk art decoration, the found panel is painted with a scenic landscape of a small, riverside town. A bridge stretches across the foreground, dotted with passerbys and fisherman, while a bustling town fills in the horizon.
Simple raised sides transform the rectangular panel into a large tray and a loosely-brushed layer of blue-green lacquer adds the finishing touch. A lovely way to bring the past into the present, the tray is ideal as a serving platter, catch-all dish or even as a wall-mounted painting.
