About the Item

A gorgeous English papier mâché gilt and polychrome tray with hand-painted floral motifs, circa 1850. Neoclassical scrolled motifs accentuate the serpentine edges of the tray, while an abundance of delicate flowers occupy the center of the cartouche which appear vibrant against the black lacquer. This will make a perfect anchor on a large cocktail table or striking accent when propped upright to take in all the fine details. Please view the detailed images to see more.
