About the Item
A lovely ceramic trinket dish or vide poche in a purple and gray glaze. This piece was created in Italy, and imported by the well-known importer of Italian ceramics, Pauls. It is square and made of a very heavy sturdy ceramic. It almost feels like stoneware or ironstone. The interior of the dish is glazed in an almost purple and gray mat glaze and features a raised stylized design. The design incorporates a floral motif along with ribbons. The exterior and bottom of the dish are in a mat white or cream. Around the edges is a raised garland design with a hint of gold just around the outside. The bottom is marked Pauls Italy, 1954, 3696.
Use this piece on a coffee table or dressing table to hold odds and ends or small jewelry items like earrings or bracelets.
