About the Item

This set of three antique Delft plates was hand-painted in the Netherlands circa 1800. Each plate measures approximately 9 inches in diameter and features a unique blue and white design painted in cobalt oxide under a clear glaze. The central motifs include stylized beautiful floral arrangements and a pastoral scene with deer, all framed by floral borders. The rims are finished with a warm yellow line, a traditional touch in late 18th- and early 19th-century Dutch faience. These plates embody the Folk Art charm and decorative style that made Delftware prized throughout Europe.
