About the Item

Tecton Tray in Red Alabaster Limited Edition by Félix Millory for Monitillo 1980. Limited Edition of 2 Pieces. Dimensions: W 26 x D 26 x H 6 cm. Materials: Alabaster. An exclusive limited edition of the Tecton Tray, with only 2 pieces available worldwide. Carved from rare Red Alabaster, this piece elevates the circular tectonic design with the deep, translucent crimson tones and unique geological patterns of the stone. The Tecton collection is the result of an exclusive collaboration between Monitillo 1980 and French architect Félix Millory. In this series, Millory translates his architectural rigor and passion for the purity of materials into a scale of sculptural furniture. Inspired by tectonic movements, the designer explores the three-dimensionality of stone, creating pieces where geological strength meets a refined and contemporary elegance. Monitillo 1980 stands at the prestigious intersection of Italian stone-working heritage and avant-garde international design. Based in Altamura, Italy, the studio was founded by Francesco Monitillo, evolving from a traditional masonry workshop into a world-class laboratory for architectural furniture and sculptural objects. The brand’s philosophy is rooted in "listening" to the stone—recognizing that every block of marble or travertine carries a unique geological narrative. By blending state-of-the-art robotic precision with the soul of manual artisanal finishing, Monitillo 1980 transforms monumental materials into pieces characterized by surprising lightness and contemporary elegance. Known for its high-profile collaborations with a curated roster of global architects and designers—such as Félix Millory, Luca Nichetto, and Claesson Koivisto Rune—the studio pushes the boundaries of three-dimensionality and texture. Every piece is a testament to the "Made in Italy" excellence, where technical rigor meets artistic exploration to create timeless icons of luxury design.

Large Platter by Birger Kaipiainen for Rörstrand in Limited Edition 294/500
By Birger Kaipiainen, Rörstrand
Located in Stockholm, SE
Exceptional and beautiful large platter designed by Birger Kaipiainen for Rörstrand in limited edition, number 294/500. Decor with apples, plums and bunches of grapes. Birger Kaipiainen has been called "the master of ceramics" and "the undisputed ruler of decorative art". Highlights of iridescent glaze. The platter is in mint condition. No sign of use. Birger Kaipiainen began his career at the Arabia Art Department in 1937 and quickly found his own way to make art. The soon-to-begin Winter War and several losses in his personal life cast a dark shadow over the beginning of his artistic career, and this manifested as sadness and longing in his early works. They are dominated by ethereal, fairy-tale-like characters depicted in pastel tones, with references to early Italian Renaissance and longing for a more beautiful world. Kaipiainen graduated from the School of Arts & Crafts (later known as the Aalto School of Arts of Helsinki). After graduation he went to work for Finnish ceramics...
