About the Item
Antiques of London
A rare oak-glazed shop counter display cabinet made for the Anglo-Dutch Cigar Co. Ltd., branded Willem II – King of Dutch Cigars. This cabinet would have originally been placed on the counter of tobacconists to display cigars for sale, with the angled glazed front making the contents visible to customers while keeping them secure behind the hinged lid.
The oak frame is hand-finished with carved decoration and a glazed window. Inside are fitted compartments designed to hold a variety of cigars, such as Half Corona, Chicas, and Optimum Tubes (as noted on the original Anglo Dutch Cigar Co. label on the base).
