About the Item

A distinguished 19th-century Swiss cigar box, exquisitely hand-carved and finished on all sides with dense, interlacing floral and foliate motifs characteristic of the finest Black Forest craftsmanship. Each surface displays layered leaves, curling tendrils, and textured carving, creating a richly decorative object meant to be admired from every angle. Crowning the lid is a superbly sculpted hunting dog, captured in mid-stride with a bird held gently in its mouth.
