About the Item

VICTORIAN SMOKING CANE WITH A ROTATING MONEY BOX AND MATCH COMPARTMENT Unmarked, probably English; late 19th/early 20th century 35" H x 2 1/8" W An interesting smoker's cane, the compartment at the top rotates to reveal hidden nickels for buying a cigar and the side of the handle can be withdrawn to grab a match. Situated over an ebonized tapered shaft terminating in a conforming tapered sabot. Condition: Wear through the nickel-plating in the handle and sabot with trace oxidization and tarnish, scuffs and scratches.
