A striking and authentic 1920s Art Deco enamel ladies makeup compact, featuring a beautifully asymmetrical ivory and black geometric design on the lid, a hallmark of the era’s fascination with bold contrast, symmetry, and modern elegance.
Crafted with precision and grace, this compact opens with a simple push of the clasp, revealing a polished interior mirror and two functional compartments below. One compartment holds its original rouge cake, still intact beneath a delicate powder puff, while the second opens to reveal a larger blending puff, both remarkably well-preserved.
The mirror, housed within the lid, shows gentle signs of age at the corners, a faint darkening that is consistent with authentic 1920s silvering, adding vintage charm rather than detracting from its usability. The interior remains clean, bright, and fully functional.
The underside of the compact is finished in smooth ivory colored enamel, and the entire piece displays the streamlined glamour associated with the Art Deco movement.
