About the Item

Crafted in mahogany, this handsome box features a warm, rich surface and classic proportions. The interior measures approximately 3 1/2 inches deep and retains its ivory latch with key, along with original brass hinges. There is a slight warp to the wood, consistent with age and material, which adds character and authentic charm without detracting from overall condition. An appealing example of 19th century American craftsmanship, the box remains in very good condition and presents beautifully. A versatile and collectible piece, well suited for storing documents, keepsakes, or as a decorative accent with historical presence.
