About the Item
This is a 19 Century Sevres Style Porcelain Trinket Box. The hinged rectangular trinket box is hand painted in the lid. It depicts a sunny costal landscape with the sea, sailboats and a mountain at the right side with some houses. At the seashore, there is a couple who is dancing while a man seated with his dog is playing a guitar. At the left of the couple, there is a tree trunk with few branches that are bent by the wind. Roses with foliage are hand painted inside the lid and box. There are also some gold color scrolls hand painted in the sides of the box. Below the base there is what appears to be an incomplete Sevres hallmark.
