About the Item

19th century victorian pollard oak and brass dome top stationary box circa 1890. Beautiful quality piece of desktop storage. Made in a fiddleback pollard oak to all exterior surfaces, further decorated with ornate brass strap work and escutheon. Working lock and key opens to a fitted interior for envelopes, calling cards, stamps and a removable pen tray. Retailers label on the underside, 'woodruff's bee hive bazaar'. Good rich golden colour. 1 small area of restoration to the back corner.
