About the Item

This charming and character rich box features a finely inlaid central star, likely executed in fruitwood, set against a warm, timeworn surface. The interior retains its original fitted tray with multiple compartments, offering both practicality and historical integrity. The box includes a period photograph of the family to whom it originally belonged, adding a rare and personal layer of provenance. The interior depth is 3 1/2 inches. The removable interior tray measures approximately 1 1/2 inches deep. Finished with original brass hinges, the box does not retain its key.
