About the Item
This lovely object with its fine patina resembles a little trunk when standing on a table. In an upright position it resembles a book. Therefore, it can be considered a book with secret compartments and included in a library as such. The box is decorated with fine gold embossed ornaments in Renaissance Revival style. The hinged lid is lined with red linen on the inside. The box was made in Paris, it has the gold embossed address of what probably was the retailer printed on the bottom of the box.
