About the Item
This box was handcrafted out of cardboard. The box is designed as two books in a folder with luxury binding. The box can be opened to reveal a secret compartment. The spines of the books are impressed with gold lettering - on one spine the title is over read ground. The books have French titles. One book reads 'A. France Histoire Comique'. The other book is entitled 'M. Theuillet Contes pour la Jeunesse'. These kind of book boxes were invented to keep secrets in a book shelf.
