An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V sterling silver biscuit box; an addition to the ornamental silverware collection
This exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver biscuit box has a circular rounded form onto a circular spreading foot.
The body of the antique biscuit box is plain and unembellished.
The upper rim of the box is encompassed with plain applied moulded borders to the rim.
This antique box retains the original hallmarked domed hinged cover surmounted with an impressive and large cast silver organic finial with a swept quatrefoil motif to the lower portion.
This exceptional silver box retains the original hallmarked latch and swivel catch; this catch indicates the high quality of the piece.
Condition
This antique sterling silver biscuit box is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
This impressive box has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.
Full British hallmarks struck to the surface of the body, in addition to the part hallmarks to the cover and latch are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
