About the Item
Antique Scandinavian wooden container with original dark blue paint which is worn off at places. The side are made of one single piece of wide bent wood, closed will stiches of natural material.
The bottom of the box and the top of the lid are of solid wood.
It´s most likely made in Denmark or Sweden, hand crafted circa 1850 by a local crafts man
The "Tjene" was used for storage of mainly dry foods.
It has a closing mechanism so you can use the handle when transporting it.
This piece is very decorative and can be used for storage of e.g. yarn or dry foods in your kitchen.
Very nice antique condition with patina.
