About the Item
This antique sterling silver and leather playing card box was made in London, England is 1885 by an unknown maker, in a period Victorian style. The box is styled as a miniature knife box with a hinged top and partition in the bottom making two separate spaces for two decks of playing cards. The top and front and done in sterling silver with a vine and wreath decoration and a remaining sides are done in a green leather. The box is hallmarked in the lower left front corner for English sterling, London, 1885.
