About the Item
A vivid green malachite glass trinket box, produced in 1960s Czechoslovakia (modern-day Czech Republic), using the original moulds from the studios of Heinrich Hoffmann and Curt Schlevogt—two of the most significant figures in early 20th-century Czech art glass.
This circular lidded bowl is a faithful reissue of a classic Art Deco design, originally conceived in the 1930s during the peak of the Czech malachite glass movement. Created using opaque green glass, the surface mimics the mineral malachite with beautifully swirling tonal variations—an effect prized by collectors of Bohemian glassware.
The exterior is moulded in high relief with a lavish fruit and bow motif, characteristic of Hoffmann and Schlevogt's decorative repertoire. Ideal for use as a jewellery box, vanity jar, or as a sculptural accent on a dressing table or coffee table.
Measurements: approximately 9 cm in diameter × 6 cm in height.
Condition: In good vintage condition with minor age-related wear. Two small chips to the inner rim are noted but do not detract from its overall presence or functionality.
A highly collectible example of mid-century Czech malachite glass, with strong ties to Art Deco revival aesthetics and enduring decorative appeal.
