Beautiful, unadorned Biedermeier casket box in amazing walnut veneer from Austria, circa 1840.
Very nicely grained walnut veneer on solid maple wood. In the lid is a mirror glass inlaid, which has been replaced later. Brass hinges, key, and iron lock.
Visible traces of former interior fittings inside. Restored condition, hand-polished with shellac.
