About the Item
This is a Chateau de Tuileries hand painted porcelain rectangular casket box. It depicts a pastoral scene of a young couple and their chaperone over it’s hinged lid. The scene is framed by a pattern of gilt pink arrow tips. The side panels of the box are painted also pink and enhance with gilt foliages, scrolls of acanthus leaves and beads. The painting of the casket is signed Quentin. Inside the casket walls, there are different type of flowers bouquets hand painted. The hallmarks of Chateau of Tuileries and Louis Phillipe are below the base.
