About the Item

A large casket with cut crystal and gilt bronze mountings. The crystal is blown and cut in "bamboo" or large ribbed cut. The exceptional mounting presents a finely chiselled decoration and is enhanced by small faceted blue crystal elements set in a claw mounting. The case has a lock and key. Mid-19th century work. Circa 1830. Restauration.
