A fine dome-shaped satinwood box with a lower drawer is adorned with vases and floral swags, cross-banded in rosewood. Maker: Edwards and Roberts Edwards and Roberts, a prominent English antique furniture cabinet maker, emerged in the latter half of the eighteenth century. Established in 1845, the company swiftly gained recognition, trading as ‘Edwards and Roberts’ by 1854. Located at 21 Wardour Street, they specialized in both antique and modern cabinetry, importing exquisite ancient furniture. Renowned for their exceptional craftsmanship, they produced high-quality furniture. Their work was characterized by satinwood marquetry and a preference for Georgian designs. C. 1870, England
