About the Item

An elegant 19th-century English Regency rosewood writing slope and campaign desk, exquisitely decorated with mother-of-pearl scrolling foliate inlay and refined silver-toned metal stringwork trim. This finely crafted antique box exemplifies the sophistication of Regency-era travel and campaign furniture, designed for both beauty and function. The hinged lid opens to reveal a gilt-embossed black leather writing surface, offering a luxurious and practical workspace. Beneath the writing surface are thoughtfully arranged storage compartments to either side, fitted with pen and ink receptacles and retaining an original glass inkwell. A concealed compartment houses three small drawers Dual collapsible brass campaign handles at the sides enhance both portability and authenticity.
