About the Item

A German treasure chest desk box. This is a beautiful rectangular desk box created in Germany during the Imperial period, back in 1890-1900. The box is crafted in the shape of a treasure chest and fully carved in cedar wood and decorated with forged silver hardware’s. It is fitted with two sets of hinges and a security lock. The box is extremely well made and fitted in the interior with the original red velvet lining. Stamped with an oval bronze plaque, that read E S Schutz Marke, that means patented. This German box is very decorative and display wonderful. Country: European, Germany. Period: Imperial Germany, circa 1890-1900. Materials: Cedar wood, forged silver-plated bronze and red felt. Weight: About 3 pounds, (1.37 Kg.). Measurements: 164 mm by 273 mm by 165 mm (6.45 x 10.75 x 6.5 Inches). Condition: The overall condition of this German box is excellent. Besides the little normal wear, there is no damage and all parts are secured in the settings. This box has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
