A striking Italian Art Deco Revival decorative box from the late 1970s, exquisitely crafted in natural fossil limestone and framed with refined solid brass detailing. The sculptural, pyramid-form lid and crisp geometric silhouette echo the architectural glamour of early 20th-century Italian Deco design, while the stone’s visible fossil inclusions and hand-cut panels create a richly organic, one-of-a-kind surface.
The interior is lined in solid mahogany, adding warmth and depth and reflecting the exceptional craftsmanship of Italian decorative arts from this era. The base is finished with a soft velvet underside, ensuring the piece sits gently on any surface — a detail typical of high-end Italian luxury objects.
Ideal as a jewelry box, desk accessory, cigar or cigarette box, vanity organizer, or a sculptural accent on a console or bookshelf, this piece is both functional and highly collectible.
Condition: In overall good vintage condition, with light wear to the back corners (see close-up photos). Aside from this minor, age-related wear, the box is beautifully preserved and displays exceptionally well.
