About the Item
This stunning and hard to find vintage modernist Pietra Dura Italian stone hinged box has an elaborate butterfly in the center of the black marble. The sections of the butterfly have segmented lapis lazuli, tiger iron stone, pink rhodochrosite and a few other stones. This box is heavy, brass hinged and incredibly made. It is a very special box indeed. Butterfly's are good luck. From the 60's. It was done in the style of Richard Blow. This will be fabulous on a desk, dresser or cocktail table. It is beautiful and has great presence. On eof our favorites in the collection.
