About the Item
A lovely mid century Japanese silver and mixed metal rectangular hinged box on squat shaped feet. The inside lined in rosewood. Stamped SILVER 0.950. Circa 1950.
The decorative mixed-metal river landscape scene is double sided.
There are a few small pin prick size dents to the exterior and another slightly larger to the front, along with surface scratches commensurate with use and age. There are a few blemishes to the mixed metal. The lid opens and closes very well.

The outer is made from plaster of Paris, with detailed texture, having wooden hand-painted lancet arched windows and front door, and featuring a central clock face and medieval crenulations. The exterior is in remarkably good condition, left untouched.
