Beautiful, unadorned late Biedermeier casket box made of solid birch wood from northern Germany, circa 1840. * Ebonized diamond as key crest. * Original brass lock and hinges. * Inside, there is a shelf in the middle. * Restored condition, hand-polished with shellac. The lid is slightly warped, which means that the lock no longer closes properly. Dimensions: H 9.4 cm / 3.70 in W 27.5 cm / 10.83 in D 17.5 cm / 6.89 in
