About the Item

The Vienna Porcelain Manufactory is illustrious for its production of porcelain boxes like this one hand-painted by Franz Wagner. The artist paints a beautiful and luminescent miniature portrait of a beautiful young woman on the oval porcelain. The portrait is embellished with gilded foliate motifs on the side as well as a lovely gilded bottom. The box is lined in wine-colored velvet, and the top closes perfectly.
