About the Item
This sterling silver substantial hallmarked Mid-Century Modern box has a beautiful ebonized rosewood interior. The Mayan Aztec design that is engraved and drawn is symbolic of a heritage that is lost and past. It is signed ADM Hecho en Mexico Sterling Tane 925. Tane were great silversmiths and very known and collected. It almost has a Grecian feel to it that meets the Mayan aztec influence. It has great weight to it and is vintage from the 1950s. This is a very special detailed engraved box of substantial presence and weight. This is an early Mid-Century Modern Sterling silver hallmarked box. This will make a great desk accessory, for a library or cocktail table object sculptural box. Sorry the photos do not do justice to the beauty of this sterling silver substantial hinged box. it is very special, detailed and heavy. This must be shipped within the USA because of the restricted material of beautiful rosewood. What a beautiful gift this will make.
