About the Item
Victorian Period, Continental Silver (.800), heart-form trinkets box, having a hinged lid, Germany, Ca. 1895, Ludwig Neresheimer - maker. The box lid depicts a pastoral scene - A man and woman are sitting close together on a hillside. The woman is holding what seems to be a bottle of wine; the man is holding the woman close to him. An open book lies at their feet. They are surrounded by a heart-shaped design (which follows the shape of the lid of the box) of flowers, etc. The edges of the box are crimped in design. The sides of the box are designed with flower, garlands, ribbons and bows. There is a vacant cartouche at the very front of the box (see photos). Dark areas on silver in the photos are reflections. In good antique condition.

Silver spice rack in its color with a heart shaped shape and curved spout to one side that has two hinged lids and three spaces inside (partition above and not below); It is supported by three legs decorated with classicist elements and has, towards the side, a series of fine smooth moldings. The hallmarks are those corresponding to Granada, to date, and to the silversmith Manuel López Portero, who also worked as hallmarks in the city.
